Deuteronomy 6:1-9
The Old Testament describes in detail the method of discipleship that Jesus used for making disciples in the Gospels. God commanded Moses in Deuteronomy 6 to teach the people of Israel the ways of God so that they would teach their sons and their sons' sons. Moses goes on to command Israel to teach their children to follow God by using every life situation to teach them. Teach them when you are walking, sitting, lying down, when you are coming, or when you are going. In every life situation, we seek to intentional invest in those around us.
